Getting Around Beachwood

Beachwood is served by the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. For other air travel, Beachwood visitors can use Burke Lakefront Airport or Cuyahoga County Airport.

Drivers can travel between Beachwood and Hopkins airport on Routes 237 South, 480 West or 271 South. Even easier, visitors can take the Red Line from the airport to the Green Line which serves Beachwood. Most Beachwood hotels offer shuttle services. Most rental car companies have airport locations. Reservations are needed for limo services and rental cars.

I-90 West and 271 North link Burke, a general aviation facility, to Beachwood. Richmond Road North links Cuyahoga Airport to Beachwood. Taxis are on a first come-first served basis. Limo services and rental cars are available with reservations. Burke Airport is close to the South Harbor rail station which is the terminus for both the Blue and Green Lines.

Rapid Transit provides efficient travel to and from Beachwood. From the Warrensville Center Road terminal, riders can take the Blue Line Rapid Transit along Van Aiken Boulevard. From the Green Road station, riders take the Green Line along Shaker Boulevard.

RTA buses also have Beachwood Routes. In addition, the city offers a "door-to-door Community Responsive Transit" system. This requires reservations. Both bus systems can link visitors to the Light Rail line. In turn, the Blue and Green lines can link riders to the Red Line to reach other parts of the Cleveland area and Hopkins airport.

Riders can also link up with the light rail Waterfront line which serves downtown Cleveland. Riding the rails is a great way to see the sights. Light Rail can take visitors close to Brown Stadium, the Science Museum and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Once in downtown Cleveland, Beachwood travelers can ride free trolley buses. The E-Line serves Cleveland State University, Playhouse Square theaters, and the Warehouse District. The B-Line serves Cleveland City Hall, the Federal Office Building, and Public Square. You can transfer between the lines at the Tower City stop. They run every 10 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.

If you drive from Beachwood to downtown Cleveland, you can park in the downtown Municipal Parking Lot and take an inexpensive shuttle service to the Tower City trolley stop. The Public Square/Muny Loop shuttle runs from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
