Corpus Christi Transportation

The city of Corpus Christi, Texas is rather large and is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination. There are so many sights to see and attractions to visit, as well as a wide array of foods to taste, that it is no wonder so many people are coming to visit the city. But just like every other major city, tourists want to know how to get around. Luckily, Corpus Christi offers tourists a number of viable options for transportation. Upon arrival to the airport, tourists need to be able to get to their hotel or their first travel stop. Many people utilize the services of airport or hotel shuttles. Shuttles are often inexpensive and offer door-to-door transportation. For an added fee, individuals can choose to have a private shuttle rather than ride with others. Additionally, some hotels offer free shuttle services to and from the airport.

Another viable option for transportation is a rental car. There are plenty of rental car options at the airport and throughout the city for tourists to choose from. Each rental location has its own costs and fees as well as fleet of vehicles. It is up to the individual to choose the rental company, cost, and type of vehicle they wish to drive. Corpus Christi, though a large city, is fairly easy to maneuver, though traffic can get heavy at times.

If renting a car or taking a shuttle is not to your liking, there is also the public transportation option. Although Corpus Christi does not have a train system, it does have a very efficient public bus system. The RTA, or Regional Transportation Authority, provides service throughout the city of Corpus Christi, as well as the surrounding areas as well. The bus system if efficient and depending on the time of day, can run every five to 15 minutes. The areas covered by the RTA include Robstown, Port Aransas, Gregory, Driscoll, Corpus Christi, Bishop, and Agua Dulce.

A final transportation option for those visiting the city is chauffeured service. This can include taxi cabs as well as private limos, SUVs, and other fleets of cars. Taxis can be easy to catch in the city hub, but can be difficult to obtain in the surrounding areas unless you call them. On the other hand, chauffeured services can be obtained and can be an easy way of getting around.
