Killeen is a small town in Texas, with about 100,000 locals. The attractions in the area include two very large man-made, Corps of Engineer lakes. Some fun activities are available here, such as swimming, fishing, and waterskiing. Also, there is the Central Texas College, with an excellent planetarium and an IMAX theater; the Expo Center, offers Ice hockey, rodeos, large arts and crafts fairs, major entertainers, and other special activities. Fourth Infantry Division Museum

The Fourth Infantry Division Museum in Killeen presents the military history of the area, which is home to Fort Hood. It traces the patriotic history of the Fourth Infantry Division that was activated in response to the 1917 declaration of war against Germany and participated in four major campaigns during World War One. Visitors can see various artifacts, photos, vehicles and other displays. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.

The Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA) is situated about 20 miles east of Killeen. It offers a swimming/water park area, a boat dock, a beach and numerous pavilions and picnic areas. Guests of the area can fish, water ski, boat, swim and more. Boat rentals are available and fish bait is sold at a concession shop on the premises.
