Las Vegas Transportation

Las Vegas has a staggering amount of sights and attraction visitors can experience. Getting around the town from site to site in a speedy manner is a task that even locals have to struggle with. This guide will outline some of the best ways to get around Vegas in a timely manner.

Taxi Cabs
Taxi are a convenient option that visitors can use to go directly to and from any location in and around Las Vegas. All of the major casinos have a taxi stand where cabs are always lined up to take visitors from the casino to anywhere in town they need to go. Cab pricing is regulated by the Nevada Taxicab Authority and all cab companies have the same fares. Taxis charge a pick up fee (plus an additional fee if coming from the airport), and add on charges for mileage as well as "wait time." Drivers appreciate, and even expect gratuities as do the doormen that help riders in and out of the cab.

The Deuce
For visitors that are sticking to The Strip, The Deuce might be the easiest way to get up and down Las Vegas Boulevard. The Deuce is a double-decker bus that gives riders a comfortable air conditioned ride inside on the lower deck, or lets them enjoy the views of the strip on the roofless upper deck. The Deuce runs from downtown Las Vegas at Fremont Street all the way to the Madalay Bay on the south side of town. The Deuce stops in front of major casinos and shopping locations. Guests can either pay each time they hop on, or buy a 24 hours pass to use all day and night.

The Monorail
The Las Vegas Monorail offers passengers a fast ride that avoids the frequently congested streets of Las Vegas Boulevard. The monorail takes passengers from the MGM Grand hotel and casino on south end of The Strip to the site of the former Sahara hotel on the north end in about 15 minutes. The Monorail typically picks up every 6 minutes and stops at 7 major hotel/casinos. Riders might have to walk to their final destination due to the fact that the monorail track is only on the east side of The Strip. Daily, multi-day and yearly passes are available for purchase depending on the length of visit.
