Getting Around Richardson

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) provides the public transportation for Richardson, TX. This consists of light rail train and bus services. There are four DART stations in Richardson: Arapaho Center Station, Spring Valley Station, Bush Turnpike Station, and Galatyn Park Station. These stations serve both the trains and buses. Richardson is primarily served by the DFW or Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Located 25 miles from downtown Richardson, they offer flights to over 150 prominent US locations as well as over 20 international destinations with over 900 flights daily. DFW ranks third in the national for operations and seventh for passengers. They have four domestic terminals served by thirteen airlines and one international terminal served by seven foreign airlines. There are 155 gates total.

Dallas Loves Field also serves the Richardson area. It is located 17 miles from Richardson and provides connections to a number of US destinations. United Express, Delta Connection, Southwest Airlines, and SeaPort Airlines operate flights at Loves Field through two terminals with nineteen gates total.

The Richardson also has two corporate/general aviation airports: Collin County Regional Airport at McKinney and Addison Airport.

Both the DFW and Dallas Love Field airports offer taxi service, car rentals, and shuttle services. The DFW taxi service is on the upper level for all terminals except Terminal D where it is on the lower level. Airline staff is available during the day at DFW to assist with taxi services. There is a number to dial for nightly rides. The Dallas Love taxi service is across the street from the main terminal building's baggage claim wing. It is on the upper level.

As the Dallas area's second largest center of employment, the Richardson roadways serve a plethora of commuters every day. Richardson is well connected to many of the major highways that serve the larger Dallas area including I-635 or the Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Freeway, U.S. 75 or North Central Expressway, Dallas North Tollway, and SH 190 or President George Bush Turnpike.
